Há anos, [Robert McKee] viu dois filmes de Manoel de Oliveira e agora assistiu a Alice (Marco Martins, 2005), Call Girl (António-Pedro Vasconselos, 2007), Juventude em Marcha (Pedro Costa, 2006) e Aquele Querido Mês de Agosto (Miguel Gomes, 2008). Achou que o realizador e argumentista de Call Girl deviam ter escolhido o ponto de vista único da call girl e esquecido os outros quatro e nos restantes encontrou desejo de aventura e esforço minimalista, mas… “não são muito hábeis”.

Se se quer usar uma técnica minimal, tem de haver a certeza de que há um conteúdo tremendo, como no Brokeback Mountain” (ou O Amor é um Lugar Estranho, Morrer em Las Vegas, Confissões de Schmidt, enuncia) e só o encontrou em Alice.

Twins passed away aged 2 days.

Sad. Wish they could have lived and be happy like the Hensel twins.
